To summarize the essence of this project, it is about a Muslim community which is settled in the city of Gatineau, and wants to settle in a dignified way. Its main concern is to preserve its identity and to carry out its social mission. We have been living difficult times where international events and ill-motivated media draw a not-so-bright picture of Muslims and Islam. Unfortunately, the society, being ill-informed, has been following suit and becoming suspicious of anything that is related to Muslims. This yields a certain fear within the Muslim individual to come forward as such. On the other hand, the Muslim community has to deploy significant efforts to show the true image of Islam. This can be done while being united by the spirit of a mosque, not only as a place of worship, but also, and no less importantly, as an identity preserver of future generations. All this needs an institution worthy of this mission of great hope. The day the Gatineau Muslims will see the majestically erect mosque insha’ Allah, they will wholeheartedly accept Allah’s gift and pray for all contributors. What is more, when non-Muslims see it, it will certainly arouse their curiosity so much so that they will knock on our doors which they will find wide open to discover the true world of Islam and the true values of Muslims.

This is the dream that has driven a group of dedicated Muslims to take up the challenge of the mission upon their shoulders. Would you like to be part of this project?
