When the Gatineau Mosque opened in Ramadan 2008 it bore an outstanding debt (at the time) of over $900,000 and there were fears that the building could be put in lien if payments were not made. read more

On Aug. 31, on the eve of Ramadan, Gatineau and Hull area Muslims assembled for the first time in their very own mosque for asr, the late afternoon prayer.
