Quran Kid Camp
Assalamou 'Alaikum Dear
Brothers and Sisters;
Based on the smooth progress of the Quran Kid Camp and to make sure that
the children will maximize the benefit from this event, we are adding
two more sessions on Saturday and Sunday between 2pm and 4pm.
* Please note that children under 5 years old must be accompanied by a
parent. We extend our most sincere thanks for your enthusiastic and
efficient collaboration. This is the new Quran Kid Camp schedule offered
by Shaykh Muhammad Abu Rass:

Sheykh Sukkar Conferences
I have the pleasure to announce that, by the grace of Allah swt, Shaykh
Muhammad Sukkar has arrived in Gatineau. Thus, the lecture program on
the sciences of the Quran begins this Saturday as planned, insha-Allah.
As a reminder, today's program includes two lectures:
- A lecture dedicated to the sisters after the Dhuhur prayer (1:30)
- A lecture open the public after the prayer of Al-Asr (5:30)
Sheikh Mohammed Sukkar is an imminent scholar from the Arab Republic of
Egypt. He is an expert in the 10 major and minor Qeera'at of the Quran .
He specializes in Quranic sciences and in particular, the linguistic
miracles of the Quran. He also holds an Ijazah in the science of Hadith.
Come experience the pleasure of an exceptional and enriching lecture.

DISTRESS CALL
Given the devastating floods killing more than 1500 dead and more than
15 millions homeless, our Pakistani brothers and sisters are in distress
need humanitarian assistance. Please give generously to this cause; it
is the least thing a Muslim can do to fulfill his duty.
The donations will be given to Canadian Human Concern Ottawa which will
forward them to Pakistan insha Allah.

Ramadan
After a long meeting of the
Ottawa- Gatineau Hilal Committee, Imam Khaled Al Azhary made the
following declaration at 11.55pm Tuesday as follows:
As there was no authentic moonsighting anywhere in North
America, South America or in the closest Muslim country, Morocco :
• Wednesday August 11 will be 30th of Shaban
• the 1st day of Ramadan will be Thursday August 12 insha' Allah.

Parking Service during the month of Ramadan
The CIO board provides a
parking facility during the month of Ramadan. Please follow the
instructions of the parking attendants. It is strictly forbidden to park
in unauthorized areas, otherwise fines are not the CIO's responsibility.
We urge you to use:
• St. Joseph Street and other surrounding streets,
• La Fonderie parking is FREE AT NIGHT, and the day it costs only
$ 2 for two hours, behind the mosque on Montcalm St.. (See map)
The cars blocking the driveway of the CIO parking will be towed without
notice.
We Muslims should respect the law and set the example of good
citizenship. Thank you for your cooperation.

Program of Ramadan
The OIC is pleased to let you know about the confirmation of the arrival
of Shaykh Abouras for this blessed month Alhamdulillah, hoping for that
of Shaykh Sukkar too. The program and schedule of Ramadan will be posted
and distributed soon inshaa. Allah.
Shaikh Mohammed Abouras is a leading reciter of the Koran, from Libya,
whose style and voice help to enjoy and get soaked with the word of
Allah, may Allah bless him!
The community has truly appreciated his coming for the last two Ramadans
so much that everyone wished for having him also this year. Praise be to
Allah Who made this bounty come easy.
BBQ Saturday, August 7
A BBQ will be held this Saturday, August 7 at St. John Bosco Park next
to the mosque from 4pm. It will be the last before Ramadan, numerous
attendance is expected insha’ Allah.
The Great Mosque cleaning
In preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan, the OIC will undertake
a major cleaning of the mosque tomorrow Saturday inshaa. Allah. We need
volunteers, brothers and sisters, to help carry out this work fi Sabili
Allah. We're expecting lots of volunteers tomorrow from 9am.
Book Sale
Multivisions is pleased to announce that books and other items will be
available at the OIC community hall during the first 2 weeks of Ramadan.
Ramadan 2010 iftar
During the month of Ramadan, OIC prepares the daily breakfast meals
for about forty Muslim brothers and sisters. In order to help us
organize this activity, we invite you to be as generous as usual and
contribute meals or money. Please get in touch with Br. Ahmed Tahid as
soon as possible to book a suitable date.
